Last Saturday at Lancs... *tear*

Last night was my final Saturday evening at Lancaster. (Next Saturday I will be in London, the following Saturday I will be in Edinburgh or Stirling and the one after that I'll be home doing something ridiculously cool like going to the Deckhouse/Barnes & Noble/Sheetz with T.) For my last Saturday, we definitely had a good time Lancs-style... chilled at old bars, ate sugar waffles, watched movies, got a dance show from Kate & Hev. The only thing missing was a lightsaber demonstration by Andy (had to get a rain ticket on that one).

I don't know what it is that has changed... maybe the weather, maybe the knowledge that the end is near, maybe the fact that most people back at Case are home & I'm not missing out on major events... but the place has been downright amazing. Figures huh? All I know is that I have an incredible 19 days ahead of me and I'm going to enjoy every last one of them. :-D How's that for optimistic? I figure it can't hurt. Worst that could happen is that it rains everyday... wait... that already happens.

In a completely unrelated subject, I've come across some pretty crazy news here in England. In a country where they promote Vegetarianism with the tag line "How long can you keep it up?" and try to stop littering with the line "While you are down there, could you put this in the bin for me?" (check out those stories here... article even includes the word "naff"!), they actually find the wearing of hoodies and baseball caps intimidatingly deviant behavior. In a shopping center in Kent, they have outlawed the wearing of hoodies and hats because they are antisocial. The story is here. What's almost as good as the dress code in the mall is the guy quoted in the story. His picture is shown on the right and the caption on the picture is "Mr Prescott says he did not mean to look miserable." Among other great lines in the story are:

"... he came back with 10 people with hoods, you know, these fellas with hoods on.
He came at me in a very intimidating manner but, of course, I now have security control. They appeared and they vanished." ~Britain's Deputy Prime Minister

"One of the problems for me is that I've got a face that falls into a miserable looking face." ~ same Minister

Brits are always good for a giggle or two.
